Tides

In conjunction with weather, tides are perhaps the greatest influence on shore fishing.

Whether it's high or low, spring or neap, ebbing or flowing - you need to take it all into account when figuring out where and when to go.

It's obviously important for bait collection too. It can be especially useful to know when the spring tides are so you gather bait from areas that would normally be out of range.

Low water at spring tides is also a good time to visit fishing marks to hopefully see some features that you normally wouldn't.
