Prospects for July
Prospects this month are very similar to June. Tope will still be there to be caught if the weather is right. There are so many different species available to catch that the hardest thing is probably deciding what to fish for and where. A good time to knock off some more species on the species list for the year.
Welcome to Manx Shore Fishing, a web site containing information on the many aspects of fishing from the beaches, piers and rock marks of the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man has a wide variety of species on offer for the sea angler to target from the shore. From the humble dogfish, coalfish and mackerel, to the more sought after species such as tope, bass and callig (pollack to non-locals), there is something for everyone.
In addition to the wide choice of species, there are also a great variety of places to fish, with about 100 miles of coastline comprising of long unbroken stretches of sand and shingle beaches, secluded coves, deep water rock marks and convenient piers and promenades. The marks section will give you some information on a selection of the many fishing venues around the Island, and the species page gives some details about a few of the species that are available, plus some tips on catching them. Further information about the general fishing prospects throughout the year can be found on the calendar page.
The catch reports and members gallery sections provide a facility for anglers to submit their own catch reports and pictures. All contributions are welcome and will instantly appear on the website. The forum and chat room facilities allow anglers to further contribute to the site and to share information with each other. The angling clubs section gives details of local angling clubs, including competition dates and venues
Finally, there are some links to weather, tide and fishing related websites where hopefully you will find some interesting and useful information.
If you have any questions, or would like to leave feedback, suggestions or comments in general about the site, then please use the forum (where you can contribute your own comments publically) or the contact form (which will send your feedback privately by email).
Enjoy the site, feel free to contribute and tight lines !!!
